Applying for a Charitable Contribution

At Daiichi Sankyo, Inc., we believe our business extends beyond the discovery and development of therapies for unmet medical needs. It's also our mission to make a positive difference in the communities in which we live and work. Not because others expect it of us, but because we expect it of ourselves. Individual and collective contributions to our communities are an integral part of the fabric of Daiichi Sankyo. Daiichi Sankyo corporate giving and support initiatives are diverse and include charitable contributions, product donations, grants and sponsorships. Daiichi Sankyo provides corporate support to patient and professional organizations and institutions for programs and activities that:

  • Provide broad public benefit, advance medical care or improve patient outcomes
  • Are consistent with Daiichi Sankyo's corporate vision and values, and business, public policy or corporate philanthropy priorities

Daiichi Sankyo strives to ensure that our interactions with independent organizations and the provision of financial support or product donations are in strict compliance with relevant laws and regulations, industry codes and guidelines, and Daiichi Sankyo policies and procedures. Regardless of the type of giving and support, all organizations applying for corporate giving and support must review and follow Daiichi Sankyo requirements.

We focus our charitable efforts on three primary areas:

  1. Access to health care – with an emphasis on underserved populations and oncology.
  2. Science, technology, engineering, medicine/mathematics (STEM) education
  3. Communities where we work and live

We support locally the global and national efforts of the Daiichi Sankyo Global Medical Affairs Oncology Patient Advocacy Program. Just as our scientists dedicate their talents to finding solutions to disease, we dedicate our philanthropic initiatives to programs that help people prevent and manage illnesses. Our definition of Charitable Contributions consists of funding for which Daiichi Sankyo, Inc. receives no tangible benefit in return for our support. Recognition of our support by mention of our company name, display of our logo, or corporate advertisement in a journal are not considered tangible benefits.

Our Charitable Contributions include:

Financial or in-kind support provided to non-profit organizations including patient advocacy groups, professional medical associations, and other charitable organizations with 501(c)(3), (c)(4), (c)(6) tax status.

  • Healthcare charitable contributions providing unrestricted support for public and patient education such as health screenings and patient advocacy programs for disease awareness.
  • Non-healthcare charitable contributions providing unrestricted support for community organizations (e.g., financial donations to museums and schools, support for disaster relief efforts).

Charitable Contributions requests that include tangible benefits may in fact be considered Sponsorships. Please review the Sponsorships section to determine if your request should be submitted there.

  • Daiichi Sankyo, Inc. will not consider requests for Charitable Contributions for events which have already occurred.
  • Daiichi Sankyo, Inc. will not provide Charitable Contributions for any program prohibited under state gift ban laws or the PhRMA Code of Ethics for Interactions with Health Care Professionals.

When completing your application, please make sure all forms are accurately completed and that all required documents are provided. Any missing or incorrect information may result in delays or rejection of applications.
